To augment local community and state-level health and medical services with pre-identified, trained and credentialed volunteers during emergency medical operations and other vital public health activities.

The Florida Medical Reserve Corps Network was established to effectively facilitate the use of private volunteers in emergency response.

The Office of Public Health Nursing is responsible for developing the Florida Medical Reserve Corps Network by providing resources and technical assistance to local sites for building capacity and responding effectively.

The Florida Medical Reserve Corps Network comprises 31 local sites, covering 56 of Florida's 67 counties.

Florida Medical Reserve Corps sites are community-based and function to locally organize and utilize health professionals and other volunteers who want to donate their time and expertise to promote community health and respond to emergencies.

  • All prospective volunteers (medical and non-medical) for the Deepwater Horizon Incident response should register at www.servfl.com as a Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) Volunteer.

The State Emergency Responders and Volunteers of Florida (SERVFL) is the State of Florida's online system for managing public health and medical disaster responders (volunteers and staff teams). SERVFL registry supports a variety of personnel who may be utilized during disasters, all-hazard response efforts, and public health activities.
